Vanessa Mazur is confident that what she is doing is correct. She has no reason to feel guilty about giving up. It was only intended to be temporary for you to act as assistant, housekeeper, and fairy godmother to the best defensive end in the National Football League. She is not going to spend any more time than necessary washing her extra-large pants.
But when Aiden Graves unexpectedly knocks on her door and asks her to return, she is taken aback.
The man known as The Wall of Winnipeg avoided greeting her or acknowledging her birthday for two full years. Now? He is requesting the impossible.

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me Book summary
the game he was playing. Vanessa Mazur, who works as his assistant, is one example. Aiden depends on her for almost everything, including food and social media, yet he pays her little attention. He never so much as says “hello” to her in the morning, and he clearly takes her for granted. He’s rude and dismissive, to put it mildly.
After two years on the job with Aiden, Vanessa has amassed enough savings to leave and pursue a career in web design. Aiden, who has never made an effort to get to know Vanessa, is caught off guard by this news. He was so preoccupied with his personal success that he failed to see that she had also created websites for some of his teammates.
Aiden is rudely awakened by Vanessa’s decision to leave her employment. He wants her back badly and is prepared to do almost everything to get her back. He’ll have to do some serious apologising and bowing before she’ll forgive him for the way he treated her. Please believe me when I say that there is nothing I enjoy more than a good ol’ fashioned grovel! In my writing, this is what I live for.
Aiden hopes to boost the ante this time. He must act quickly to renew his contract or face deportation, which he does not intend to allow to occur. The only thing standing between him and automatic citizenship is a marriage, and we can all guess who he has in mind.
Aiden and Vanessa’s working relationship develops into something more than it was at first. Aiden, on the other hand, had no idea of how distant and uncaring he had been. When Vanessa points out his poor treatment of her, he makes a concerted effort to change. His social awkwardness was also endearing. Like Vanessa, I soon found myself completely smitten by Aiden. It was impossible to say no to him.
Vanessa, the protagonist, was also quite likeable. I felt an instant bond with her because of how approachable she was. She was a courageous protagonist without any overt signs of aggression or callousness. Her role was well-rounded and helped complete Aiden’s character.
