The Puck Secret Book Summary
The ability to discover new writers and request arcs in exchange for honest reviews is a huge perk of this community. This is the first book by this author that I’ve read, but it definitely won’t be the last.
ETL and brother’s rival/teammate were two of my favourite tropes, and when the anonymous texts were added, I couldn’t stop reading. There is so much pain between these two families that it would be best if they never met again, but they don’t, and I couldn’t be happier about it.
Madeline, the daughter of the mayor, is under enormous stress. She appreciates the attention she receives when she texts the wrong number and begins a discussion with a total stranger. Her secret message has a way of soothing her when she’s being tugged in every direction at once. Nova, I can’t think of any other word to describe him but “yummy.” There are good grounds for the huge chip on his shoulder he carries. The depth of Nova’s personality and the complexity of his emotions captivated me.When they’re face to face, the animosity and witty repartee between these two is palpable. Maddie’s world is turned upside down when she accidentally knocks on the incorrect door at a party. In this novel, girl spares no expletives. One particular scene stood out (iykyk). I thought they made a fantastic couple. Their narrative is so real and heartbreaking that you can’t help but feel for every single one of the people in it.
I can’t wait to hear Josh’s story since he is Maddie’s brother and he has always been quite protective of her, but now he really steps up.
