Her general reaction is one of mild enjoyment, but she can’t shake the suspicion that this is precisely what is going to derail their progress towards their objectives.

Up-and-coming author Janisha Boswell is writing a college series based on her and her friends’ lives because she can’t help but share her passion for romance and all things sweet. Her sophomore novel, “Fake Dates & Ice Skates,” about a figure skater named Wren Hackerly and a hockey player named Miles Davis who fabricate a relationship to obtain what they want, became a viral sensation after she promoted it on TikTok and Instagram.
Janisha’s goal when she writes is to make the reader feel the same range of feelings she did while experiencing the events she describes. She has always placed a high value on literature, and now she can convey the awe and calm she experiences whenever she closes a good book by putting it into her own words.
Fake Dates & Ice Skates Book Summary
I enjoyed seeing Miles get whipped by Wren from day one. He was endearing in every manner, and he persistently pursued her romantically. I liked how Wren’s other friends prodded her to spend time with her crush and break out of her shell.
Wren was a fascinating protagonist, and I enjoyed following her development throughout the story. I loved what we got, however I wished a little bit more had been done with her creative writing. Seeing them cooperate to accomplish their goals meant the world to me. The reality that it was she who inspired him to resume playing hockey, his true passion. She constantly pushed him to improve himself.
Miles had an innate ability to read Wren’s mood and anticipate his needs. He had an uncanny ability to understand her emotions and intentions. For them, the book’s resolution is absolutely satisfying. Miles returned Wren to her safe place by providing for her specific need.
I’m eagerly anticipating this series’ upcoming installments. I’d really like to see Scarlett and Evan holding a book.
