This mystery/romance about love, second chances, honesty, and bravery was entertaining. Second-grade teacher Taylor and her brother were looking forward to a pleasant vacation in Cape Cod, but that all changed when they discovered a body in the rental house they were staying in. Taylor is eager to assist in the investigation, but the bounty hunter on the case, Myles, doesn’t believe he can be of any use. Can Taylor and Myles figure out what happened? Can Myles regain his faith in love with Taylor’s guidance?
I loved this book so much! The narrative focuses on Taylor and Myles. From the first page, I was completely immersed in this fantastic novel. The mystery element of the book was fascinating, and I enjoyed working to unravel the crime alongside the protagonists. These people were really interesting to me. Taylor is a wonderful friend; she is strong-willed, kind, clever, courageous, and helpful. I loved how Taylor proved her bravery to herself and others. Once you get past his tough exterior, Myles is so hot, protective, and sweet; I can’t help but fall in love with him. Jude, Taylor’s older brother, is a fantastic human being and sibling. Taylor and Myles had incredible chemistry and sexual tension. Taylor and Myles’ chemistry was fantastic. The sudden shift from sexual attraction to romantic love was the one thing that bothered me about the story. The resolution was satisfying and adorable. I’m relieved it finished on a positive note. Anyone who enjoys lighthearted romances with well-developed protagonists should read this book.
