What should a famous actor do if he realises that stepping out of the limelight may do harm to his loved ones?
My agency has this stupidly terrible idea that if I propose to my long-lost love on national TV, she will reject me and restore my Hollywood heartthrob reputation.
The idea? Women all across the world will fall over poor Lincoln James, rushing to mend his broken heart.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any love in my life. Hadley Morgan, my undisclosed college crush, is cast as my phoney girlfriend by my agent. The one who forced me to attend an audition that ended up catapulting my career while leaving her in the dust. She ups the ante by proposing that Hadley appear on the show she was first cut from years ago. I have no choice but to play along with the publicity stunt in which the media digs out dirt on my family.
Until Hadley blows up our romance during a very public proposal, I’m in Harvest Hollow as part of the dream pair HadLink. This agreement includes our separation. It’s a shame because I feel genuine feelings for this girl. But if I tell the truth, I could jeopardise Hadley’s career, my family’s trauma, and my own reborn feelings…
The phoney dating/celebrity romcom Faking the Fall has plenty of passionate embraces and electric tension behind closed doors. The people of Harvest Hollow are funny and caring, but there’s no heat to be found. The novels in the Sweater Weather series can be read independently of one another.

Faking the Fall Book Summary
Author Julie Christianson’s Faking the Fall is the fourth installment in a romantic comedy series authored by a number of different authors who all share a common universe. Hadley and James, alias Links, a famous actor, are old friends who reconnect in the picturesque North Carolina village of Harvest Hallow in Faking the Fall.
They were close friends in college until the day when a talent scout discovered James while he was watching Hadley try out for a reality programme. James moved to Los Angeles after becoming Links and leaving North Carolina and Harley behind, but now his acting career is in jeopardy and he needs Harley’s assistance. They agree to play along with the studio’s false dating scheme, only to discover that their genuine affections for one another were never an act.
This is a light and charming tale, great for reading while taking in the crisp autumn air at home.
