Throughout history, individuals have consistently made predictions regarding the termination of the world, starting from its earliest stages. Consequently, it is only reasonable to approach the establishment of a new date for the Day of Judgement with a certain degree of scepticism. However, it is evident that the forces representing Good and Evil are indeed gathering in large numbers at present. The four Bikers of the Apocalypse are off on a journey. However, it is evident that both the celestial beings, namely an impulsive demon and a meticulous angel, share a same desire for the non-occurrence of the Rapture event.

About The Author Terry Pratchett
Terence was born. Sir Terry Pratchett, renowned author, successfully marketed his inaugural narrative at the tender age of thirteen, thereby amassing sufficient funds to acquire a pre-owned typewriter. The inaugural literary work of the author, named The Carpet People, is a comical fantasy tale that was published in the year 1971 by the esteemed publishing house, Colin Smythe.
Terry accumulated extensive professional experience as a journalist and press officer over an extended period. Concurrently, he dedicated his leisure time to writing and successfully published several novels. Notably, his inaugural Discworld novel, titled The Colour of Magic, was released in 1983. In the year 1987, he transitioned to a career solely focused on writing.
The Discworld series comprises a collection of more than 40 literary works, with a subset of four specifically tailored for a younger audience. The initial work in question, titled “The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents,” was awarded the prestigious Carnegie Medal.
One of Terry Pratchett’s notable works, Good Omens, is a non-Discworld book that he co-authored with Neil Gaiman in 1990. This literary collaboration has had enduring popularity, consistently ranking as a bestseller. In early 2006, the book was reprinted in hardcover format by William Morrow. In recognition of his notable contributions to literature, he was bestowed the honour of Officer of the British Empire (OBE) in 1998. Furthermore, Sir Terry Pratchett was bestowed with honorary doctorates by various prestigious institutions. These universities include the University of Warwick, which opened in 1999, the University of Portsmouth, which opened in 2001, and the University of Bath, which opened in 2002.
In December 2007, Pratchett made public his diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. On February 18, 2009, he received knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II.
In the year 2010, he was bestowed with the prestigious World Fantasy Life Achievement Award.

Good Omens Book Summary
Good Omens might be characterised as a contemporary, comedic, and distinctive interpretation of the concept of Armageddon and its preceding occurrences. The Amazon version of the novel, which I recently viewed, maintains a consistent level of humour and plot congruence, as anticipated given the involvement of Neil Gaiman in the scriptwriting process.
The prose exhibits a notable lack of regularity and frequently digresses, resulting in a combination of amusement and perplexity. The text presented both positive and bad aspects to the reader, as it exhibited a distinct stylistic departure from my previous encounters. However, at times, it detracted from the coherence of the plot.
The characters had a wide range of backgrounds and were exceptionally well-developed. Specifically, the collaboration between the demonic being known as Crowley and the celestial being Aziraphale. The individuals exhibited exceptional compatibility, as evidenced by the profound nature of their relationship, which can be attributed to their extensive acquaintance spanning a period of 6000 years. The strength of the narrative was undoubtedly evident in this aspect, and the trajectory of their storyline emerged as my preferred element.
The novel Good Omens proved to be a captivating and intellectually stimulating literary work, devoid of any dull or monotonous elements. I quickly adapted to the unconventional writing style, and ultimately found it to be really effective. I am really anticipating the opportunity to engage in a comprehensive discussion pertaining to all aspects of this literary work on the upcoming Sunday, during the meeting of the Eastbourne Waterstones fantasy book club.
