Ratnakaram Sathyanarayana Raju, well known as Sathya Sai Baba, was an Indian guru and philanthropist. He claimed to be the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba at the age of fourteen, and he left his home to serve society and set an example for his followers.

It was a source of both fame and controversy that Sai Baba supposedly materialised vibhuti (holy ash) and other small objects such as rings, necklaces, and watches, along with reports of miraculous healings, revival, clairvoyance, bilocation, and alleged perpetuity and omniscience. Though his worshippers believe they are signs of his divinity, his acts were based on sleight of hand.

Sathya Sai Baba formed the Sathya Sai Organisation “to enable its adherents to engage in service activities as a method of spiritual progress,” and it now has over 1,200 Sathya Sai Centres (branches) in 126 countries. Sathya Sai Baba built a network of free super speciality and general hospitals, clinics, drinking water projects, a university, auditoriums, ashrams, and schools through this organisation.

Life of Sathya Sai Baba

Nearly everything that is known about Sathya Sai Baba’s life is derived from his hagiography, stories that have a very special significance for his devotees, and they regard them as proof of his divine nature. Satya Narayana Raju was born in the village of Puttaparthi to Meesaraganda Easwaramma and Peddavenkama Raju Ratnakaram, to the Bhatraju family, a religious musician community and balladers in what was British India’s Madras Presidency. His birth was alleged to be a miraculous conception by his mother Easwaramma. Among Baba’s brothers were Ratnakaram Seshama Raju (1911–85), Venkamma’s sisters (1918–1993) and Parvathamma (1920–1998) and Janakirama’s younger brother (1931–2003).

He was described as a child as “unusually intelligent” and charitable, but not necessarily academically inclined because of his interest in spirituality. His talents in devotional music, dance and drama were unusual. He was allegedly able to materialise objects such as food and sweets from a young age out of thin air.

Sathya Sai Baba Cause of Death

Sathya Sai Baba died in Puttaparthi on 24 April 2011 due to breathing problems. His remains have been laid with state honours.

Years after his death, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust officials opened their private residence to the government on 17 June 2011. The approximate value of ninety-eight kg gold ornaments was Rs21 crore, 307 kg silver ornaments were Rs1.6 crore, and Rs11.6 crore were found in cash.

Miracles

Sathya Sai Baba, famous for his (as so-called devotees) matrix of gold chains and thin air watches, was challenged during his time by several rationalists. In 1976, a rationalist Hosur Narasimha challenged Baba to perform one of his miracles in a controlled environment, but the application was denied. So as a result we have no proven facts about his Miracles.

Sathya Sai Baba Predictions

Sai Baba’s supporters believe he will reincarnate in the future. They say he professed during interactions that he could be born again in a village of Karnataka as Prem Sai.

Net worth

Sathya Sai Baba established a significant number of schools, colleges, hospitals, and other charity organisations in India and overseas, with an estimated net financial capital of Rs. 400 billion (US$9 billion dollars). However, estimations of up to 1.4 trillion rupees (about $31.5 billion dollars) have been suggested.

Sathya Sai Baba on Money

Money or wealth is regarded as the Goddess Lakshmi by Indians. Don’t waste your money. You will become a slave to poor attributes, terrible thoughts, and bad behaviours if you do so. Make good use of your money by doing nice deeds. Money misuse is wicked, therefore don’t waste it. It will take you down the wrong road.

“Do not misuse your money. God is the source of wealth.” Misuse of money is wicked since God is wealth. Instead than wasting money on frivolous purchases, practise generosity by giving away money, food, clothing, houses, and other items. Money misuse is not only wrong, but it is also a sin. “Don’t squander time,” is the third piece of advice. “Loss of time is waste of life.”

God is raised to the level of time. He exists outside of time, transcends time, and is time itself. Make the most of your time by employing sanctifying phrases. Do not squander your time. God is squandered when time is wasted.

“Don’t squander energy,” says the fourth instruction. People waste their energy by having negative thoughts, seeing negative things, hearing negative things, and acting negatively.
