The Rings of Power were already forged by elven blacksmiths, and the Dark Lord Sauron had infused the One Ring with his own power so that he might reign over the rest. But the One Ring had been snatched from him, and despite his searching all throughout Middle-earth, he could never find it again. It eventually made its way into Bilbo Baggins’ hands, centuries after it had been created.
From his stronghold in the Black Tower of Mordor, Sauron ruled over a vast empire. Sauron amassed all the Great Rings, yet he never stopped looking for the One Ring that would give him absolute power.
By the time Bilbo turned eleven and a half, he had vanished, leaving his young cousin Frodo the Ruling Ring and the dangerous goal of traversing Middle-earth, entering the shadow of the Dark Lord, and destroying the Ring by tossing it into the Cracks of Doom.
The Fellowship of the Ring consists of Gandalf the Wizard, Merry, Pippin, and Samwise from the Hobbit world, Gimli the Dwarf, Legolas the Elf, Boromir of Gondor, and a mysterious tall man named Strider.

He returned to academia after the war and began instructing students in Old and Middle English. In addition to his works on Middle-earth, it is worth noting that Tolkien also engaged in the composition of poetry, children’s literature, and adult fairy tales. The individual in question expired in the year 1973 and was interred in Oxford, a location where he had resided for the most of his mature years.
The Lord of the Rings Book Summary
It took me what seemed like forever, but was actually just over three months, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The length and the time it took me to read it made me feel a deeper connection to the plot and the characters, even though I was previously familiar with them from the films.
I was already a huge movie buff before I started this. I recently rewatched them before settling on reading it, and they still stand up wonderfully. After reading the books, you might find some of Peter Jackson’s adaptation choices strange.
The reading level surprised me. Considering it’s a sequel to The Hobbit, which is often considered a children’s novel, I was prepared for a highly thick narrative and description; however, I found it to be extremely humorous.
The last appendices were the only part I couldn’t get through, and I gave up when it got into the languages and calendars. After making a mistake, it felt like a lot of extra labour that was unnecessary.
