Twisted Loyalties Book 1 Summary
Truth be told, I put off reading it for a while because of the negative reviews I had read and because I was never in the mood for a romantic mafia story. And, really? That I didn’t believe my own assumptions was a good decision.
From the mafia’s perspective, this had just the right amount of grime and bloodshed. It evoked similar feelings of unease as Scarface did for me.
The romance, on the other hand, wasn’t terrible. I’m not the most patient person when it comes to my smut, and this was a slow burn. Unless it’s done well, with a fair amount of tension and steam to keep me interested.
Naturally, I feel obligated to give props to the voice actors. Since Jacob Morgan is my favourite character, you can bet that I enjoyed every chapter he wrote. I wouldn’t rank Lucy Rivers among my favourites, but she performed an excellent job anyway.
The plot moved quickly, and there was a diverse cast of individuals to root for. The only downside was that I didn’t always approve of Leona’s actions. During the final bout between Remo and Fabiano, there was a sudden turn that I didn’t like. After all that buildup, I thought Remo’s choice was a little too simple.
